JKGTO, I see your photos, but there is no way the fans I have will fit in your positions. First of all, my bolts are spaced much wider and each fan bolt spacing is different. I see the dimples where your fans are placed, but there is no way mine will fit there. I guess it's possible I have fans from another GM line, but they sure look the same as the pictures in the book. Also, in the diagrams the left fan motor faces downward and the right fan motor upward. Mine both face up.

Also, there are no holes in the kick panel area to hold the wires and grommet. None. Hmmm.

First I had to remove and replace one stud on each fan, which had been cut off. They were welded on, so I ground them off and replaced them with a bolt. There should be plenty of threads to fasten the fans.

On the right side I found one dimple marked "P". ? Power Flow Ventilation? This seemed to be roughly the spot for the rearward stud and should make the lower bracket attach to the outer portion of the plenum. At least by eye. So I drilled a hole at that dimple and measured the spacing and drilled hole #2. Great. However, trying to fit that fan up the foot well to the cowl AND get the studs into the holes by myself proved to be a no go, so I came up with a crude plan. I fished a wire down through the holes and taped a string to the wire, then tied the string to stud one. Repeat for stud 2. I wrangled the fan roughly into position and then used the strings to guide the studs into the holes. It actually worked on the first try! Amazing. I attached the nuts, cut the string and then fastened the bottom bracket with a self tapping screw. One bat firmly in the roost. You can see all this in the photos. Now I have to drill a 1/2" hole somewhere in the wheel well to get the wires to mate up with the Power Flow harness. All this took roughly 3 hours. I'm beat. Tomorrow the left side.
It looks like the fan is situated perfectly with the out flow directed immediately behind the dash flapper valve. Win-win!
