Before the Burtons raced their '91 3rd gen, it was raced by
Steve Smith. I knew that Steve had run a Pontiac powered GT Bird. But I just recently thought to do a search on Auto Imagery, for Steve Smith. To my surprise, the pics were of a car that looked exactly like the Burton car, including the wide blue stripe. Many, if not most guys change the paint job, at least slightly, when they buy a car that has been a recently active race car.
