that's cool!!

after Reading Arnie's book, I am find myself all the more appreciating this grass roots drag racing;
It's essentially what attracted me to the PSMCD - it's not a situation where deeper pockets guarantee wins;
It's car against car, and driver against driver - no tricks.

In 1983 I was six years old, so not nearly old enough to see cars like these racing.
The closest I remember was my dad (who was described by family as going through cars faster than underwear) had a '79 TA for a spell and one of our drives in that car another TA tried racing my dad with all three of us in the car.
