I would try it and see which works better for your car. I've pretty much ran them all. As with most engineering solutions, there's always trade-offs to be made. I think the Holley is easier to tune. I ran a Carter 625 on my 350 Chevelle daily driver for a while. It worked well after throwing the tuning kit at it. Was very lean out of the box. Also struggled to get a smooth secondary transition. After tuning it was a very good carb though.
