Thanks for the video. I especially liked it because he was using the exact same Sunnen seat and guide machine I have and the same runnout gauge. It's a little clunky and out dated, but does a decent job. Much better equipment is out there now. Serdi makes nice stuff among others. I shoot for .0005-.001 seat runnout. That's about as good as I can get with the 20+ year old equipment and the worn pilots. We like to consider the Sunnen equipment "student proof" and it is pretty tough. It's belt drive vs direct drive so pretty hard to badly crash. Serdi machines are very delicate, but accurate. BTW, I have found AFR heads to be among the best aluminum stuff I deal with, Edelbrock, middle of the road, and Chinese aluminum heads can be pretty rough. In the video he took .003" off the seat to clean it up. I have had some new Chinese stuff need .010-.012 to make it right. You do what you have to do to make the stuff usable. Once it's purchased, you are kind of out of options.
