From what I've seen, Chief has proved a 482 Pontiac can compete against all comers in the races he participates in. He is usually top three at most races he enters.
John Langer has competed against all brands in a heads class and has been successful, along with others in the past.. On a smaller scale Dick Fulton has "owned" an endurance race he competes in at a track in Minnesota, that is a heads up class and open to all makes.
A bit more to it than just which engine makes the most power, if that was the case EVERYONE would tie for first place..... GTOGEORGE has won races with his Pontiac in open classes.
It's amazing what can be accomplished once the chair in front of the "keyboards" is vacated.
