I'm committed to installing the gauges & tach now. I took them to Bob's Speedometer Services in Howell, MI for them to check them over to see what they needed...which was everything. Even though they looked nice outside and in the housings, everything needs to be rebuilt and recalibrated...tach, speedo, fuel, oil, and water temp gauges. The volts gauge works well and just needs a good cleaning. It'll be $1500 by the time I'm done, but at least they will work accurately and look good. I took the gauges in Friday (Jan. 14) and they'll be done this Friday. I'm not having them restored as they look fine as they are.
The new (original for gauges/tach) dash harness looks great with just a minimal amount of repair needed. Thanks again to UnruhJonny! We're going to remove the front seats and center console to make it easier to lay on our backs to do the swap. It probably would be a good time to install a new heater core while it's all apart...hmm.
