GM considers the last 8 characters of the VIN to uniquely identify a car, so style such as 2687 or 2887 does not matter. MY, plant and leading number matter. In the case of 70 Firebird there can be 4 VIN “0123”s:
0N100123
0L100123
0N600123
0L600123
I know we don’t talk about 6 cylinder cars much but they had unique VINs, and since they only made 2-3000 per year back then they are all low numbers.
