I owned at one time a 64, 65, and 66 (at the same time).
Stored the 65 and 66 at my uncles dealership. Both were southern Florida cars.

My uncle the Pontiac dealer said you need to move a couple of these cars off the lot.
So I asked which one I should keep. He said keep the Tri-Power M/trans 64 Convertible.
1st year of the GTO and will be the one to keep.

The 65 would have made a great race car. I later bought a 64 Chassis car (14/32 tubs, custom frame, rack and pinion, etc).
Basically rust free.

He was right.
