As far as answering your other question for a comparable LS and related to utility trucks.
The UPS brown box trucks were at one time (and I think still are) using the 6.0 LS engines.
I don't know what the normal UPS truck is rated at as far as payload but you don't need a CDL to drive one so the payload must not exceed 26,000 lbs. and the trailer they sometimes pull behind it can't exceed 10,000 lbs.
That's a lot of work for the little 6.0
I'm sure the gas mileage is horrible. Especially since everyone you see leaving the house is about WOT all the time LOL. My dad's 6.0 3/4 ton truck drops to 7-8 mpg when pulling a fully loaded car trailer and that's trying to drive it easy.
