Here is a picture of my original, next to the current Jim Osborn Reproductions decal, who supplies everybody. Looks like maybe 71 went to a larger size.
Can someone who has an original 71 decal measure it and the stamped area where the decal is applied? The measurements for the stamped area for the 70 are roughly 3-1/8 by 2-3/4
