The more important question is how they fit in the bore!
If you can rock them side to side then you need to determine if it’s just due to their body’s being worn, or the lifter bore’s also contributing to the rocking.
Proper clearance is .0001 to at most .0015” .
If you are in doubt then by one new standard flat tappet hydro lifter and check the fit in all 16 bore’s and the lifters full length of needed travel,
If you then have excess clearance I would go back to a flat tappet cam since when a roller lifter has excess clearance and rock it will chew up the needle bearings in time.
If you want to play with a roll of the dice if you have worn bores then get new roller lifters that use a solid bearing and not needle’s.
