Here is a photo of the nozzle attachment area, and one of the date code for the hood ... which I have no idea how to decode. And yes the hole for the screw is quite small, and the square for the insert is about half the size of the typical examples you see for like inner fender applications. After looking at the Ames product I realized it does cover 68-72 and has four plastic inserts and four screws which would cover any combination of screws and inserts .. doesn't show any clip on nuts. I couldn't tell from the 69 assembly manual if it was showing an insert or a clip on nut. Hood uses only two screws per hood scoop ... I think that might narrow down the year.
