It was Factory or Dealer installed.
There are two types of kits;
An early 1965 kit that required a hole to be drilled in the lower DS dash, this was due to the early Speed-O gauges not having the hole punched for the bulb socket.
The 2nd/later kit had the correct socket to plug into the back of the Speed-O pod.
If you happen upon an early kit but have a late build '65 Lectric Limited has the correct harness for the Speedo
