Like Mike G said.

It went from 47 to -7 in a fairly short amount of time. My vinyl sided house starting raising hell about 10pm. Popping and cracking type noises. Farm where my son lives - out of power. He's due here shortly with wife and both dogs. My brother, 3 miles away, still has power, furnace cant keep up, house is 57 degrees and dropping by the hour.

I remember as a kid, the winters being pretty harsh, and the Blizzard was awful. The local road department had a international dump truck with a giant V plow. The roads around here looked like open top tunnels! They got rid of the plow after decades of non-use. The wisdom of that decision is still playing out in some fashion.

And it will be almost 60 by next weekend. Mother Nature is off her meds.
