1967 2+2 unusual camshaft stamping?
Question. How common are camshaft code variations from established information sources?
I have a 67 2+2 428 360HP auto, A/C, AIR California car, 3.08 gears. It became necessary to rebuild this original engine. The camshaft I removed was clearly marked "9779066" and was stamped "C".
I know that A/C, Automatic cars got a 3.08 axle; did they also get a "066" cam? Did AIR cars get any special parts besides the typical AIR parts? Why no mention of a "C" stamped cam for this year or application?
This car was built the last week of 1966 at the Southgate plant.
Thanks in advance!
