Yes, they catch on fire. Have seen quite a few posts of race cars & parts catching fire
over the years and burning down a garage. Maybe time to take race cars off the road.

Believe there are only a few like Bart or Stuart that can make rules. So the government has issues with parts (recent helo crash) (B2 grounding) etc.

Your beloved Pontiacs have been OUT OF PRODUCTION for years. For a reason.
