I don't have an issue with 6X heads and you can get them to run well on pump gas. IMO, if you don't have an original engine you have options. The most expensive is to get a "numbers correct" engine, though I don't think that translates into a good ROI to buy a rare engine on
most cars. If you're going to build a Pontiac engine, you can get Edelbrock aluminum heads that will allow you to run extra compression without pinging. Just sayin' on this car, I'd put some Edelbrock round ports and some repro exhaust manifolds. I mean, they are asking $80K for it.
