I’ve never paid much attention to them because it’s never been an issue until now.
I was at the parts store earlier comparing filters. I noticed the Wix gasket is easily removable and compressed in place when installed. Most other brands glue the gasket to the filter. I wonder if that’s contributing to the leak - especially if I don’t have the seal lubed up enough and it’s bunching.
Who know how many oil changes I’ve done over the years. You’d think I’d have this process nailed by now LOL.
That said, I am really happy with the oil pressure in this engine. I have a 60lb Butler pump shimmed and it’s definitely working as advertised. I just need to keep the oil contained. |
