I used an AC Delco EP12S inline electric pump. Quiet and reliable. Small and easy to mount. They don't lift fuel very well, so mounting it low on the frame is a good idea. Mechanical pump has no problem pulling fuel through it. I like the overall safety and reliability of a mechanical fuel pump. But for priming an engine that sits for long periods or has multiple float bowls, priming with a small electric pump makes starting much easier. Electric pump also helps in hot weather vapor lock situations by keeping the fuel line under a little pressure raising the boiling point.
