I don't understand the people who would buy an EV thinking they're going cross-country. Did they do exactly zero research on it whatsoever? I'm a big fan IF your use case fits their strengths, but I don't see the majority of people fitting into that use case.
My family members can Level 2 charge for free at work. If we get a Cadillac Lyriq with 300+ miles of range, she can charge on Monday, do her 60-mile round trip each day on that charge, and then charge on Friday and we have 200+ miles available for the weekend. Over 500 miles a week with zero gas cost. If we want to go to Vegas or San Diego, we can take my CT6-V.
My retired mother lives in a town where EVERYTHING (hospital, library, post office, grocery stores, restaurants, banks) are within 3 miles of her. She could get an EV and overnight charge it on 110v at home once a month and not run out of battery.
For anyone else? Either don't get one, or don't get one as a primary vehicle. - it doesn't make sense.
