The factory advance of 1.5* is subtracted from the lobe separation angle to find the installed intake centerline.
113.5* - 1.5* = 112 *
The installed intake centerline when you line the timing marks up like the factory setting, dot to dot” is suppose to be 112*. Which can vary, and is why it is better to degree the cam in.
You simply have no business using any of the other keys (other than the zero position) on the timing set unless you degree the cam in afterward.
