Bell housing and flex plate
In need of a 63 lemans flex plate and bell housing. Automatic application. My flywheel is stamped steel not a cast iron flywheel. "Flex plate" I have been having starter issues since purchase. I have had 2 OEM starters and two aftermarket torque drive starters and all have chewed up the gear on the starter and flex plate. I talked to a local re-builder that told me to check the clearance between the flex plate and flywheel gear and the measurement is no where close. He said since there is no way to shim the starter on a bell mounted starter I need to try a different bell housing. And since, now, my flywheel teeth are chewed up he told me to source another flywheel/flex plate as well.
