They were clear cad plated almost exclusively. The cad looks silver out of the tank but oxidizes to a dull gray after a time. Sometimes a component or three will have a goldish tint to it which to me looks like the batch it was part of had a gold irridite (or whatever they put on top of the cad to make it gold cad) put on it.
