The 5/16" square size will work with factory glass. Thinner aftermarket glass will need a thicker 3/8" square size. Prime both the pinch weld and glass surfaces with pinchweld primer [black rubber], once glass is set put a thin bead of urethane between the edge of glass & butyl , smooth with popsicle stick that will seal it up. The only spacers required are two rectangular spacers to support the glass from sagging down , they can be made from any rubber or plastic . Flat spacers will not be necessary since the butyl tape will provide the support and height.
