There are two very good reasons to not have a cover on the car while it is being towed. As others have said, it will damage your paint if not remove it completely on some of the corners. The second is no matter how well the cover is secured there is a chance of it coming off of your car and ending up on another car's windshield. Clean it wax it and show it off while you are traveling. Here is a picture of my Tempest on the trailer for a trip to Chicago. One thing I did add to my trailer was a critter/stone guard at the front.
