Yeah, I see the plastic rib that you're talking about, you've got a good eye. Very hard to see the circle you drew due to my colorblindness....

I don't really see how the rotor terminal could have hit that since it's actually further away than the cap terminals. In other words, if the rotor was hitting the rib, it would have been hitting the terminals too. But, I don't know, maybe. It definitely hit something. Also, that rotor terminal is pretty thick and not easy to bend. I pressed on it pretty hard and it doesn't move. I'll have a new cap and rotor in a couple days. I'll have to take a very close look at them before I put it together. I may give DUI a call too and see what they have to say.
