I believe the All Pontiac mid plate is 1/4". TCI sells a 1/4" kit. So does PTC.
BUT, if you send your converter I would ask them to NOT weld the converter bolt spacer-washers to the converter. Leave them loose so you can remove them if you want.
And if you do weld it remember that that piece of steel is THIN. Maybe .060, its sheet metal.
So, .023 wire turned down low. I would start my weld on the washer and just dab it down to the converter and stop. Repeat until done, be careful.
You do not want to see the inside of your converter like I did. PTC did put a new bearing in for me but its been a big pain.
