Yeah those are the thin tin cases and as far as I know that style is like that. It's also not a direct shot on those offset mufflers. They are still known to flow pretty decent for what they are. What they do really well is control the noise level so if you want quiet with decent flow characteristics, I'd run it.
Personally I use their welded case mufflers. The offset mufflers are a direct shot from inlet to outlet, tube size stays the same, so obviously they will flow a little better, yet they still do a decent enough job to my ears at controlling noise with the perforated pipe and packing they use in the muffler. Even these in 3" versions behind more than 700hp provide comfortable cruising levels of sound that isn't even close to being too loud.
