I have had some issues with the wiper motor, 2 speed with recessed park aka hidden wipers for a 73 formula.
Issue i had given up on trying to get the mechanical washerpump working, and have installed a tank with eletric pump on the car and piggybacked of the + and - of the solenoid for the washerpump. This has been working great for several years. Now i got new wiper arms, and installed those but new blades hit the edge of the windshield, so i adjusted the linkage at the motor crank down in the cowl. Sucsess wiper works as it should not hitting edge of windshield trim, but still slams down on the stop post. A few days later i go to use the washer pump, it works , but wipers stop in the park position, fuse is not blown.
I take the motor out when unplugging the 3-prong connector from the motor, the "circut board" that isulates and hold the connector to the motor crumbles to dust. leaving 3 individual connectors hanging of the motor.
I take it down to my work shed and benchtest the motor, suprise! the motor works flawlessly lo-hi-park, i even get the mechanical pump working by spacing the rubber seal on pump piston with a thin o-ring in the same groove as the piston seal.
I grease up the motor and clean it off , i cut up a nylon cutting board and used it as insulator for the crumbled 3 pin connector, crude looking but does it's job. Mount it back in the car and it works for 2 revolutions. I order a new motor from rock auto, and recieved it today. I bench test it and it works flawlessly, i also got a trico eletrick pump to replace the mechanical pump. fit every thing together and mount it on the car. Wiper works, go to press the pump and wiper goes in to hi-gear and promptly locks up. i try to see if the linkage is binding maybe? I try to move the crank arm in the cowl and hey motor clicks and start working again! So i Tougth i migth have over adjusted the linkage causing the motor to bind up, i loosen the 2 screws for crank arm adjustemt so the wiper motor can get the space it wants and turn it on, it works, but when i depress the switch for washerpump motor changes speed and locks up again bind it self, if i touch the crank arm it wil click and start again.
So i am not sure what to adjust next to aviod this.
