That makes sense. Based on my limited experience long ago with a Trans Am, 12 bolt rearend and stock driveshaft & U-joints.....putting on 9" slicks immediately revealed the stock axles to be the weakest link.
Breaking a u-joint can cause the driveshaft to tear up the floor of the car, so getting better parts there is good insurance.
