My break down would be:
- $7500 for 455HO automatic short block with heads
- $1000 for the tranny if the original
- $600 for the 3.42 rear end
I have a 1971 455HO YE automatic that was rebuilt shortly before I pulled it (years ago). The engine was dismantled for storage. I have the correct intake, carb, heads, block, and distributor for it. The dates are September or October 1970. I was offered $8K for it about a year ago. I did not have it advertised for sale. I met a guy at the 2023 GTOAA and we discussed it.
There was a 1972 YB motor somewhere in TN within the last year or so for $8K. I don't remember how much of the original equipment was there, but the motor was still intact.
