I bought a blown up 455 a couple years back. Had KB Hypereutectic pistons in it. Not sure of the whole story, that engine was a disaster, but to the point: top ring touched itself and popped off a chunk of the piston crown.
Happened to be a in a cylinder that already had a replacement sleeve. Cracked that sleeve. So now the block needs to be re-resleeved :/
