You could do the cal-trac type of traction control on the rear for starters. It should work good for the ET's wanted plus more. If (or when) you decide you need more tire (slicks) than will fit in the wheel well, then tubs and narrowed rear with 4link or ladder bar setup.
The roller cam will help quite a bit, with a good higher stall converter. With a reasonable rear gear, it should run great in the eighth. Eighth mile will be easier on the engine/tranny also. TH400 with a good transbrake setup will make for a consistent and fast car.
