Reviving this thread here... What was the resolve? I am going through this right now on my 69 GTO. I have an ignition switch coming tomorrow from Ames. On my car unless someone did something hokey on the plug on the switch the resistor wire is in with the pink wire. I melted the resistance wire right out of the switch, I think I shorted out the switch? So I switched to an HEI with a full power wire coming from the pink but no voltage on start, as soon as you hit the key voltage goes away. Sorry I'm not as advanced as North here.
