I can't remember if I brought this up before, but here goes.
Lets say hobbyist XYZ can invest $45,000 into this project. However for them to go on that type of adventure, they would need to know what kind of rate of return they can get over the next 2 years.
I won't use my market investments as a gauge because those are unrealistic to continue at 24% The risk is losing the money if the project goes belly up, or sales don't meet expectations.
I'm not sure how many bare wheels could be produced for $45,000. By bare I mean including the collar attached to the wheel. Lets guess at 150 wheels at 300 each for lack of a better number.
Certainly the finished wheel would easily sell at $500, leaving the purchaser to source cap, internals and emblem. That might add another $250, so out the door at $750 which is about 1/4 the price of a good used one.
The final question being how long would it take to sell 100 wheels for the investor to be made whole (if my guestimates are correct)
