my understanding is that there are two kinds of repops;
1) 100% OE style (Ames offers these)
2) original look with different style backing
The red GM medallions actually have two kinds (at least as far as the GM parts are concerned);
First style was a lighter red;
Second style was a darker red.
The darker red ones are the easier ones to find as NOS parts;
Back in 1998 my cousin and I bought (as I recall) eight of the last ten (or so) red PMD medallions left in GM of Canada inventory.;
Some were bagged, some were in boxes.

1991 Grand Am: 14.4 @ 93.7mph (DA corrected) (retired DD, stock appearing)
2009 Cobalt SS: 13.9 @ 103mph (current DD; makes something north of 300hp & 350ft/lbs)
