That's what my parts book also states.
Oddly enough, the ram air carbs came with the same float bowls and air horns as the California non ram air counterparts!
I'll dig deeper to see if any of the other parts are the same.
In theory: If they are the same bowls and air horns, then Rochester basically took the California non ram air Quadrajets...simply put a different part number on them...then put them on their respective 1967 ram air engines!
I'm wondering if they stamped the float bowls instead of using the round disk for identification. I have seen many 1967 California Qjets with the same type of stamping as the service replacement carbs. Almost all the service carbs I have seen (going from memory) were dated 1971.
The first ones (at least in May 1967) probably still had the id disk indent on the side like every other non ram air 1967 bowls (but with no disk installed? or possibly a 7037271 or 7037276 aluminum disk)?
They are obviously very rare, so unless someone on this forum has an original unmolested Ram Air Firebird or GTO and can post photos of their original carb, we may never find out!
