Len Williams built my stroked 350 using my 1970 block and 1977 6X-4 heads. Both only had minor clean-up surfacing done taking .010 off each. Pistons were Ross flat tops set at zero deck height using 6.8" rods on the 4.25" crank.
Len confirmed no issues with chamfer size and relationship to top ring position. He did say that the .502/.510 lift on the cam was getting close to the limit though.
