Yeah that's pretty typical flat tappet stuff. I break in cams with that frequently with no issue.

So if those springs are correct and installed properly your problem is elsewhere.

Possibly sitting for 10 years before starting the engine and frequently turning the engine over might be concerning. Was there any break in lube left on the cam?
