Honda makes a great manual transmission but they never got their automatics above the "average" margin without a lot of fluid services (every 20K miles) like Toyota did. Toyota is about the only one that got CVT's down to a science. I have a coworker with a Prius that has over 400K miles on the original engine, CVT trans, and second battery pack at just under 300K. Still doesn't leak a drop of fluid anywhere.
