Default Different Winter Project. Race Helmet Paint

I decided to break up the winter monotony and paint my cheap boring race helmet. I follow a couple of people on Instagram who do cartoon style paint jobs on everything from helmets to whole cars. I also see it called cyberpunk, anime, comic book etc. And I just kinda thought I could do it. Results came out okay for a first time. Definitely more pink than I intended it to. I for sure feel like I can do even better with lessons learned.

I also readily admit this style isn't going to be for everyone. Especially with this group skewing older, but it might be motivating for someone else to take a stab at customizing their own boring helmet in a different style.

The MTN 94 graffiti paint was way better than normal rustoleum, and the paint markers were easy to use. The black spiderwebbed in a couple of places. Not sure why, no other color did.

I did a long video with the whole process (not a tutorial as this is a first time for me) if anyone is interested.

With the SA2025 helmet coming out, Im hoping the Simpson Bandit SA2020 helmets start going up cheaply. I want to try again with a more Ed Roth inspired design with some lessons learned from the first one. And you can do more cool stuff with the lines on one of the Bandits.
