That's the beauty of having an "E" transmission such as a 4L80 or 60. You can precisely control the lockup via laptop and make it do whatever whenever you want. That's why I love these electronic control transmissions with radical engines. I can run around in 4th gear and make the converter lock or unlock in any condition. Just takes a little test driving to see what your engine tolerates and then adjust accordingly.
