I plan to use the Eagle rods I have for this build, but I might attempt to heat treat this set of early forged rods and see how they turn out.
I can heat treat steel and aluminum at work and my manager doesn’t mind us doing personal projects so it would be easy enough to accomplish if I can nail down the exact process for that steel. I believe they are made from 1140. If successful, I would add ARP bolts and have them machined to restore any dimensional problems.
