I use to use rebuilt factory rods with pretty good results, never had a rod let go.
I had a build that used the good 62-63 SD rods, and that was the only rod failure I've ever had. And they were well prepped.
With all the offerings these days, it really doesn't make sense to try or need to use 'old' OE rods.
