Yes the convertible lap/shoulder were only available on 7436 GTOs.
Many years ago when I lived in Michigan, I found a set of these seat/shoulder belts in a 1968 Chevy Impala convertible I remember it to be an SS big block. It got the 18 seat belts (9 sets), they were so rusty the belts that attached to the floor could be pulled loose with the hardware intact. I restored the belts and plan on putting them in my 69 GTO convertible. This scrap yard that I got them from was very close to General Motors Proving Grounds in Milford Michigan. I suspect that this vehicle had been used as a test vehicle for the seat/shoulder belts and very likely also for saltwater testing of some sort.
