I will be installing the Comp Evolution lifters when I put the engine back together. The lifters come with very detailed instructions. To summarize, clean them with mineral spirits being carful not to remove the grease in the roller and make sure the rollers all turn. After cleaning and prior to installation soak them in break in oil for at least 2 hours. Check the lifter on the base circle and at full lift to insure the oil band is not exposed. The oil band should be at least .050 inside the bore during full travel. Set preload to 3/4 to 1 turn which should be approximately in the middle of the .125 travel.
