I do not know the purpose of the spacers they used on the 67 OHC-6's, all of my 67 Tempest and Lemans's had them, as does my current 67 Sprint FB. The only thing I cancome up with was a way to use an existing Bolt in the assembly plants? But now you have to have the spacer available also.
I don't remember any of the three 1969 Sprints I owned has having the spacers, 2 Firebirds, and a Tempest. If someone has a better answer I am all ears. It could be as simple as an easier way to torque the bolts on the assembly line to save a few seconds of assembly time.
