Tim - for your rebuild you might consider Gaterman Products lifters, their p/n GP1008.
This name will be new to the Pontiac crowd, but Bill has been engineering/building lifters for a long time. Hit their website and read the complete FAQ section before purchasing. He provides interesting info.
I have two sets in service right now (462 stroker with a Bullet cam and 400 standard with an LSM cam). Both are noise-free and zero performance issues. I like the three supply holes Gaterman incorporates in the lifter body.
