I run an M20 and 3.55 in my 67 GTO (462ci)...the car has been on many long trips over the years. In fact, a previous owner was in the Navy and drove it back and forth between California and Virginia several times. That said, interstate traffic seems to move a lot faster these days so I too am considering a 5-speed swap (TKX).
